EXPO for Excellence Elementary Magnet provides a learning environment that excites and challenges all students to develop a desire for lifelong learning. Since the school was founded in 1990, the school staff incorporates the very best of what is currently known about educational theory to help all children reach their academic and social potential.

EXPO educators use multiple methods of teaching to assist students learning through numbers, rhythms, physical surroundings, the body and a language rich environment. The EXPO staff also uses academic themes to help students learn core concepts through hands-on learning across subject areas.

EXPO students are grouped in multi-age family units and taught by a team of educators who plan lessons and work together with students. The teachers are trained in Responsive Classroom, a technique which means that students and teachers work to build a community within the classroom by focusing on both social and academic skills to improve achievement.
