| Discovery Club Policies DISCOVERY CLUB POLICIES HOLIDAY: During the 2007-2008 school year Discovery Club is closed for the following holidays: Sept. 3, Nov. 22 & 23, Dec. 25, Jan. , Jan. 21, Feb. 18, May 26, and July 4, fee are not charged for these days. Please note: the last day of the regular school year is June 5, 2008. SCHOOL RELEASE DAY: Discovery Club will be open on school release days, if there is sufficient enrollment. Throughout the year parents/guardians will be asked to fill out a School Release Day Contract. Contracts must be returned to the site manager along with payment of $39.00 per day. Contracts received after the deadline will be accommodated if space is available, an additional $5.00 fee will be charged. BILLING AND FEE PAYMENT: Parents/guardians are issued packet of biweekly payments slips for the school year : the payment slips are prorated to exclude holidays and school release days. Payments is due on or before the first Monday of each billing period. When making payment, detach the proper payment slip, enclose it with your payment: make checks/money orders payable to IDS #625 and mail to the Discovery Club Administrative Office: biweekly payments cannot be accepted at Discovery Club sites. LATE PAYMENTS: Families with accounts that are overdue will be subject to withdrawal. If extenuating circumstances exist or if you have questions regarding your account please contract the Administrative Office at 1001 Johnson Pkwy. ( 651-793-5428 / 651-793-5429 ) SCHEDULE CHANGE: With the exception of school release days, a child's schedule must be the same every week. If a parent/guardian wants to change the weekly schedule, contact your site manager to determine if the request can be accommodated. The Discovery Club Administrative Office must be notified in writing ONE WEEK in advance of each schedule change. Each schedule change will result in a $10.00 fee per family. Parents with rotating schedules must pay the $10.00 fee each time they change their child's Discovery Club Schedule. TERMINATION: Written notice must be received by the Discovery Club Administrative Office one week prior to the termination from the program. If one week advance written notice is not given, the full fee is due. ILLNESS POLICY: If a child is ill five or more days, 25% of the full fee is charged retroactive to the first day of illness ( a doctor's note is required to confirm the illness.) If a child is ill less than five consecutive days, the full fee is due. VACATION POLICY: If you are planning vacation of five or more consecutive program days during regular school or inter session days, you will be charged 25% of the full fee by giving one week advance written notice. If notice is not given, the full fee is due. LATE PICK-UP: A late fee of $25.00 is charged for every 30 minutes beginning at 6 p.m. on the classroom clock. The charge is due the day it is acquired. Please see the Discovery Club Handbook for emergency late procedures. DROP-IN POLICY: Contact site manager at least 1 week in advance to determine if space is available. If space is available, fill out the "Drop-in Reservation" form and attach payment to the form ( rates are listed at the bottom of the form; PAYMENTS ARE NON-RE FUNDABLE ). Once the form and payment are received by the site manager, a space is reserved. Drop-in is only available for currently enrolled children only. SNOW DAYS: Discovery Club is closed whenever Saint Paul Schools are closed due to inclement weather; regular fees are due. Listen to WCCO radio for school closing announcements. If the weather worsens during the school day and necessitates early dismissal; 1 All Discovery Club children who normally take the bus home after school will take the bus home when school is dismissed. 2 Those children who normally attend Discovery Club after school will come to Discovery Club. Upon notification that school will be closed, Discovery Club staff will try and contact parents/guardians. Parents/guardians must pick up their children as soon as they are able. 3 If parents/guardians cannot be reached, those individuals listed on the emergency cards will be contacted to come and pick up the child. BREAKFAST, LUNCH, AND, SNACKS: Discovery Club serves nutritious snacks after school: Lunch: On regular school days, half day kindergartners may either bring their own bag lunch or purchase a school lunch. On school release days, all children must bring a bag lunch and a beverage. Breakfast: on regular school days, breakfast may be purchased from the school. On school release days, Discovery Club provides breakfast. Please check the Discovery Club Parent Handbook for more details regarding policies/procedures.
