Cultural Responsiveness
EXPO staff is unanimous in their belief that students must have the ability to be culturally responsive. We have currently invested in the cultural framework of James Banks to guide our activities and curriculum development. A James Banks quote that we hold dearly is that a child must have the ability to “read the word and read the world.”

Parents came together to bring a wonderful Amity Aide to EXPO this fall. We are in the process of searching the world for next years Amity aides and host families from EXPO.  Our Amity aide this year, Karina and her host family became very special and valuable part of our EXPO community.

Our staff is continually seeking opportunities to make global connections for our students. They treasure our wonderful international families who are encouraged to come to EXPO to share their cultural traditions, history and artifacts.
