My name is Gail Pierce, the Media Specialist at EXPO Elementary. I am currently in my ninth year here and enjoying it! We are very excited about the many changes that media center has gone through over the past nine years.
When EXPO first opened twelve years ago, our media center was housed in a small classroom. All of the books that were in the room were donated by the families whose children attended EXPO. Twelve years later we are in a much bigger space with  | | Library Reading Area |
over 20,000 titles and seventeen computers that are all connected to the card catalog and are internet accessible. Each classroom at EXPO has a computer where learners can also access the card catalog.
Classes come to the media center once a week for thirty minutes. During this time, they can check out books, use the internet, and learn different library skills. Learners also come into the media center individually throughout the day to do research and to read quietly.
