The Witchcraft of Salem Village: a documentary
Welcome to our documentary, created by 31 reading class students from 208 and 209. This was a complex project and the kids did a wonderful job with it, even writing the show's music.  We first read a novel, The Witch of Blackbird Pond, then the nonfiction book The Witchcraft of Salem Village.  Students divided the events into 8 sections and small groups wrote scripts, filmed, and edited their sections.
To work together on the scripts, we made a wiki at http://salemvillage.wikispaces.com/
Teacher Karen Randall combined the sections for the final edit.

Rock Video Projects
While some 6th graders spent the week on a trip to the BWCA, Heather Howard's class teamed with ours to study rocks and minerals.  Students learned about types of rocks and how they are formed with Heather, then in Room 209 made a video which in some way featured a rock.

Room 209 Student Scratch Squad

Telling Stories with Words and Digital Photography
Supported by a grant from the Ecolab Visions for Learning program, students at Expo Elementary School have been using digital cameras to record images of their world.  Continue to Student Creations to see the work of some of the Room 209 students.
