Bodily Kinesthetics
Slide24.jpg
Bodily Kinesthetics is the EXPO version of physical education. Every student from kindergarten to sixth grade will receive 7 weeks of instruction. The main goal of this resource is to discover teamwork/teambuilding skills, and focus on sportsmanship, while developing age related skill and improving our overall fitness.

The Surgeon General of the United States has stated that 20-25% of the children in this country are overweight and 86% of overweight children 10-13 years old will become overweight adults. To address this, the emphasis of Bodily Kinesthtics is participation, lifelong appreciation, and fun. Hopefully if these students learn to enjoy physical activity, it will stay with them into their adult lives.

All of our EXPO classes are working on motor skills, games, sports and fitness. The younger children are geared more towards gross motor skill development. As the child?s age progresses, we are discovering more rules, strategy, and skill based games, keeping in mind our basic goal is keeping kids active.

Here are some ideas for getting your kids active at home.

When it's just you or when it is hot and sticky...

  • Do jumping jacks
  • Wash your dog
